Agenda

Aquarium Re-allocation (Room next to iCoffee)

We have a room that is called Aquarium, which is the room next to the
iCoffee.

This room was given to the visual computing students before.

The discussion is about whom to give / how to use this room from now on.

One opinion was that, excluding students from the usage of the room
depended of the study field leaves a bad taste of treating some students
specially. Also this will lead to students staying more in their
bubble.

Opening the room will also probably increase the usage.

There is right now a students council without a room in our MINT bubble:
the Bachelor + MINT council.

Reasons to give this to this council would be:

+ we share courses, so they are part/ related to our field.
+ there are already many rooms for our students to work in, so there
is no room shortage right now
+ this could create synergy to hold events together, since we could
communicate more easily
+ the golden rule would also be nice to apply here, since we would
also like to have a room, being in their position

Reasons to open this room up generally:

+ the room could be used for meetings
- people do not like to be watched while working, the room is very
open since windows
-> but there are curtains

We voted on if we would like to give the Bachelor + MINT students
council this room:

In favor (give it to MINT): 9
Against (open it up in general): 0
Abstaining: 1

Therefore the room was decided to be given to the Bachelor + MINT
students council.

Anton will arrange everything.

SIC sticker Feedback

There are now SIC stickers to prove you are an enrolled student at SIC (CS programmes and Maths), owning one makes you eligible to not be kicked out by university security at night.

The stickers were tested with the campus Mensa machines to see if they
interfere with the scanning and the result is: they do not.

Day of the open campus : Activity

(Formerly known as day of the open door)

The ideas last time were:

- 4 in a row AI interactive presentation
- morph images presentation
- offer some food

We brainstormed some more:

- Quiz about live as CS at the UdS with food as reward
- Blue FSR themed boba tea
-> concerns that people just grab the tea and don't stay was voiced,
-> also tapioka pearls would work but do not have a long shelf life
- SoPra and compiler related information could be shown,
but it is up to debate if that would be interesting enough
-> posters giving information about this can be put up

Since 4 in a row and the morph images are easy to set up, we discussed more about the food:

One practical option to give away food would be prepacked food
- people could just take them and o away,
- expensive
- spending money on this event is a hard decision, since the money should go to the CS students legally.

Beating the 4 in the row AI could reward food (the AI is very strong, so not much will be lost)

Lizzy offers ingredients to make blue tea

Only giving food away after solving a quiz would filter out people just being there for the food and not the CS

We could also make visitors do CS power point karaoke (= a CS topic PP that somebody does not know trying to explain it to us)

We could also put a picture slide of our social media content (monitor, tablet) to show the daily life and catch attention
-> can be added easily on top of the rest

We voted on the activities to pick:

4 in a row: 7 in favor
optical illusion: 5 in favor
quiz about live as CS student: 8 in favor
boba or ice tea BLUE: 8 in favor
PP karaoke: 3 in favor
putting up info posters about CS topics: 7 in favor
prepacked food as reward: 6 in favor
picture slides: 8 in favor
presenting thesis: 0 in favor

We picked: quiz with reward of prepacked food, tea, poster, sliders

Anons will take care that the university and departments know about our decisions

KIF

Conference of Computer Science students (KIF in German).

The KIF will be held this time in Passau on 22nd - 24th of June,
council members should decide until next time if they want to join this event.

The KIF provides a bunch of workshops for how to council and other university related topics. There are also some fun workshops.

The AStA usually waives the travel expenditures for 2 people who are travelling there. There needs to be a reimbursement request before the travel, so the earlier we decide on who is going, the more time there is for that.
