Agenda

Social Media — Who is who of the Student council

Essentially, we have an instagram account. Anton proposes to have a "who is who" story thing where each member introduces themselves and let everyone know who all are actually there in the team. This could also increase our engagement.

Abigail recalls what we did last year. We had each member takeover the instagram stories and also answering student FAQs.

We understand that there might be members who are not comfortable with posting online and we respect that.

The social media taskforce will discuss this in detail for more insights on feasibility and timeline.

Harry and Discord - the saga begins

We want to have better moderation on our discord server. The current issue is the onboarding process of students, wherein students don't know how to correctly select which catrgory they ideally should belong to. Kamila and Harry and brainstormed and have come up with a solution to have a more smoother onboarding process.

Kamila explains how the onboarding actually works for prospective students, wherein students just answer yes and no questions to get an appropriate role assigned to them.

Other than this, they will also be making more guidelines for internal moderators as well for the students to follow. We also would like to create a channel, on discord, where students can inform about misconducts and possible violations.

Harry browsed through other discord servers to see how things run there and what we can maybe adopt too! One such feature can be about assigning languages to each of the members for more comfortabilty amongst multilingual students.

There is some technical jargon about how they plan to implement this, which seems complex to write about right now. Basically, we will forward the complains onto our zammad ticketing system.

We can have transparency by telling students how exactly we are moderating and the motivation behind them. However, Kamila's past experience makes her feel that this could be reacted to poorly.

Another case is also that we wrongly publish details about certain bans, and this could lead to second-guessing.

Anton proposes having a mood vote (non binding) for now, as we are not in quorum. Then in the next meeting actually have a formal vote.

Upon voting, we have 7 in favour and 1 abstain.
