Guests from Google Developer Group (GDG)

They are hosting a Hackthon on July 12 at E13. And they would like to co-host with us.
GDG already have most of the resource for this time. But they reached us so maybe in the future we can extend this event further.

They are interested in the opportunity for us to advertise for their events including spreading the survey so we can know participants better.

Anton also mentioned we can help them to arrange rooms. We agreed on a communication method.

Lizzie brought up we can repost promo material on our social media.

They currently have one sponsor specialized in AI. So hackthon challenges are AI focused. It is possible to add other point of interest if more sponsors are involved.

Voluntary Helpers for Digitalisation Project — Search for Helpers

We got an email by some NGO at Merzig aiming to help elderly people to use digital media. They would like to have some volunteers for 2 hours once-twice a month.
Anton thinks it's a good idea.

Daniel suggested we can post this in our Discord group as well as posters on our pin board.
Also since we are talking about helping them to use primitive (relatively) technologies. It doesn't take a computer sciences to do this job so maybe we can contact other councils.

Anton points out that volunteers need to speak German as elderly probably don't speak English.

Anton will write back an email to ask for more details for example weather volunteers need to work at someones private resident.

Studying Quality — How do Students feel about University?

Anton wants to collect some data about study quality in this Uni in general. He suggested asking the quality of study office weather they have some data already. Or we can compile a survey.

Jonas ask what can we act on after collecting the data.

The main idea of what we can do is advocate that the student council CAN help students and they can reach us for help.

Kevin mentioned there used to be a "student health" survey provided by the sport center. We would like to reach out to them and ask if they can share the data.

ATOSE #1 — Hike to Schwarzenbergturm

ATOSE stands for "Anton's terribly organised social events". He suggested the first events is to go hiking to "Black hill tower".

Anton plans to organised these events on Discord where he announce time and location and do this "quantity over quality".

We argued if this should be an official Fachschaft event. If so then we are all responsible for it. Daniel worried that the potential low quality of these events may effect our public image negatively.


Anton will just YOLO it and see what happen.

SIC stickers (yet another) update

Jan-philipp ask if we should distribute the sticker since all the communication with Uni management and security are done.

1st of July will be the deadline for the rules to switch. Afterward a stick is required.

We will first inform Erich about the deadline and announce the existence of this sticker to students via email and posters in the working room.
