Reelections and voting system

The 2026's elections for the computer science study courses are not valid according to the council of elders (Ältestenrat) because
1. enrolled PhD students were not able to cast their vote
2. The elections were not held according to Fachschaftsrahmensatzung (FSRS) (students' council framework regulations)

Officially, the old students' council will continue their work as before the election, however there are plans to strongly cooperate with this term's candidates.

New elections need to wait for at least November 2026 until the new FSRS is published.

We assume the elections will be done on paper and not electronically; this might affect the total number of turnouts.

New elections involve a new candidacy phase etc.

As a students' council having new members is good, as for our work present motivated members are important, however this includes work from our side.

Another note from the responsible election officer: We can also think about the option to have more than 15 (elected) seats in the students' council.

We do an (un)official vibe check (amongst all enrolled CS students present in the meeting): Are we in favour of holding the reelections in Nov/Dec 2026?

Welcoming the (unofficial) new council members

We give a short introduction how we organize ourselves as the council: i.e. our taskforces.

We are unsure if we want to treat the new unofficially elected members as elected members wrt. our internal communication channels. We will decide on this in the future.

Deans Lunch

We will host a lunch with the deans of the CS department next week, 2026-07-22.
We typically hold this meeting once per semester to talk about long-term changes in the faculty.
Now, we discuss how we want to preprocess our points before we bring them up to the deans.
