Dear first semesters,
We, the Computer Science Students’ Representative Council, invite you to our introductory event StEP 2026 on October 7th to 9th!
At the StEP you will learn everything you need to know about your studies, as well as your new university, its procedures and organizations, how to get around in Saarbrücken and – if you just arrived from abroad – some quick-start tips for Germany.
Among other things, we will show you how to find your thesis topic, how you can plan your schedule, how far your semester ticket is valid, and what else our campus has to offer.
We will not only prepare you for your everyday life as a student, but also show you how to navigate through the jungle of institutions and facilities on campus. Starting with examination offices, the language center, the AStA, gastronomy and also possibilities to do sports, up to institutes like the International Students Centre Saar.
We hope to answer all your questions about your studies and to help you to make the start into your studies as smooth as possible.
You should plan to attend the presentations from 9 am to 5 pm.
But it’s not over after 5 pm! We have planned more events for you, such as a game night, a campus tour and a city tour. This will give you the opportunity to get to know each other, your surroundings and student culture.
We will start on Wednesday, October 7th, at 09:00 am in the Günter Hotz Lecture Hall in building E2 2. You can soon find the approximate schedule as well as more information and updates on our official website.
No registration necessary.
Best regards,
Your StEP team and the Computer Science Students’ Representative Council
