RindPhi-LAN
Hey guys,
I’ve been wanting to announce this ever since I was elected to the Student Council, and now it’s finally time: We’re going to have the first RindPhi-LAN since 2016!!!
The LAN Party will take place next week on Saturday (23rd November) from 10am to 10pm in the Computer Science & Math Library. We will be providing the necessary networking hardware, so all you need is a working ethernet port (or an ethernet to USB-C adapter for the laptop enthusiasts). In addition, you will need to bring your own stuff, which means either a laptop or a desktop PC; in both cases remember to bring your peripherals (mouse, keyboard, headset, mouse pad (this is the one people tend to forget)) and for the desktop user also a monitor (please keep it limited to one since we are short on space).
Besides the PC slots we also have some console slots, you will need to bring your consoles but we will provide monitors.
The games that will be played are the following:
FPS
- Unreal Tournament
- Counter Strike 2
Moba
- League of Legends (if HIZ-Internet let’s us)
RTS
- Age of Empires 2
- The Settlers 4
- Warcraft 3
SUS
- Among Us
TBS
- Civilization 6
- Worms Reloaded
Maybe
- Minecraft (If someone is willing to host a server)
Unfortunately, we cannot provide internet over LAN (only via WLAN/eduroam). PLEASE DOWNLOAD THE GAMES IN ADVANCE OR RIP EDUROAM.
To participate you need to buy a ticket, they are priced at 5 Euros mainly to ensure that people actually attend and not just reserve a ticket. Your place is only valid after you have paid for it and please pay on the same or next day, either by bank transfer or by coming to the CS Student Council in person to pay in cash.
Our capacities are as follows:
- 35 – PC seats
- 15 – console seats
We will be selling some drinks and ordering food during the event, so it is recommended that you bring some cash with you. As this is our first LAN in ages there will be some things that will most likely go wrong, but we plan to have this as not just a one time event so please be patient with us 😀
Yours sincerely
Manuel aka Aufrichtig
