Agenda
High Performance Graphics 2021
Noshaba, a former council member, joined us today in their role as a part of the High Performance Graphics 2021 event.
They have created an online presence with virtual meetup rooms where participants can talk. Currently they are using mostly stock photos/videos. However they would prefer to have some actual footage from university. They have asked us if we would be able to create a short video clip with our schwenker as this might be a nice addition and add some locality to the event.
However since they are on a rather tight timeline and the weather will not be so great during the next couple days it might be hard to organize something. However a few people from the council have volunteered to do it probably on Thursday if the weather is nice enough.
Generic and Generative Software Design
A few weeks ago some concerns have reached us concerning the Generic and Generative SW Design lecture.
Alex and Simon have talked to the people responsible for the lecture and had a productive discussion.
They appreciated the feedback regarding the entry requirements and agreed to make these more explicit in the next iteration of the lecture. They also agreed to include an additional office hour before the assignments.
Open Letter Regarding Reopening of Universities
A few weeks ago we received an open letter that basically aims to push university towards presence lectures in the upcoming winter semester. We already discussed this in detail last week and just wanted to shortly recap on this today.
As of today, we already received plenty of feedback to our survey regarding the current study situation where students said that they would strongly prefer returning to presence lectures.
Additionally the university has issued a statement just a few days ago where they also supported a similar motion.
We voted once again if we want to sign this letter as a students council:
In favor: 6
Abstaining: 1
Against: 0
We will contact the initiators that we are willing to support their cause.
Survey regarding the current study situation
We sent out our survey regarding the current study situation last week via mail. We once again want to remind every student to take part in the survey to state their opinion. The survey was sent out via mail, so make sure to check your inbox.
The survey is open until July 12th.
