Agenda

StEP

Last week we had the Bachelors and Master StEP. We thank everybody for their help. In general it went really well.

There were a lot of people attending the Bachelor StEP, which we were not really prepared for. The first day we were 184 attendees, which is the most we had in 7 years. The dropout quote is as usual, in the last days we had about 110 people. To fix the dropout rate we might move the topics which the Maths Prep-Course attendees have experienced to later in the StEP, we will disuss possible options when planning the next StEP.
For the next time we should plan more buffer in between lectures. The pub crawl needs more organising as we did not find enough people willing to organise. We need to reschedule the campus and the city tour, probably for next week. There will be a doodle for people that still want to attend. The computerlinguistics council came up to us to combine these with their respective events. Next time it needs to be more clear that the time schedule is only approximate and students cannot plan according to it.
People complained about missing social interaction during the StEP. This might be fixed by the planned additional buffer.
As we did not have enough SIC-bags we need to pack some more. However we are missing Mensaar-coupons, which we will acoomodate for by packing the bags now and adding a coupon for the Mensaar-coupon.

A lot of people attended the Master-StEP, which went really well. Thanks to Munem and Keerthana for doing the main organisation, but also to all other helpers. The first day there were about 50 students, which were day there were about 50 Students, which were then joined by the international Bachelor StEP people the next day. The Campus tour took place, however it was not optimal due to bad weather. The city tour could not happen because of the rain, however the people seemed to be very excited to participate in a city tour. Some students had a little confusion about the breakfast as it conflicted with the schedule of the Master StEP. We think most of the issues can be resolved by assigning more people to organising the Master StEP. The game night was accepted really well.

SoPra

The software engineering lab does not need programming 2 or something equivalent as a prerequisite as the university does not like to have hard prerequisites. Neither we nor the Software Engineering Chair want that. Now we would like to contact the Chair and discuss this matter with them. Simon and Max will write an Email to the responsible person of the Chair to team up and resolve this issue.

Winter Party/Niko-Fete

We want to start organising the Winter Party. It usually takes place on the 06th of December. It is similar to the breakfast but more christmassy. Before it was also a charity, however this can lead to some issues.
We decided the main organisers to be Max, Sophie and Anton.
Alex might already have acquired a sponsor, a medium-sized company named ELO, who want to expand their current office here.
The Winter-Party again as is planned as a charity event. Until the next meeting everybody should think about a charity-organisation they would like to support.
