Agenda

Thought Protocols

Prof. Reineke has asked us to not publish any new thought protocols for the system architecture anymore. Right now, we have ~5 protocols online, however Prof. Reineke seemed to change the exams in the last year, and students that they were harder than expected.

We will write to Prof. Reineke and propose that we will not publish more thought protocols, but to still prepare students well the chair could prepare a collection of preparation questions, roughly in size of 2-3 exams.

Apparently the course will change a lot in content, so our current thought protocols might be out of date at some point.

New Meeting Time Slot

Our new meeting time slot for the semester is Wednesday, 06pm every other week.
We had an internal discussion about how we decide on the time slots. The current system works like that:
- A tick mark for "I have time at this slot",
- A question mark for "I theoretically have time, but I do not want this lot"
- Mark with an x for "I do not have time".

The slot is then decided by adding the ticks and the question marks together, on a tie, the one with fewer question marks wins. With this, the most people can theoretically attend the meeting.

Usually this results in a late meeting time slot, where people have been to university for 8 hours already, causing non-meaningful contribution to the meeting.
If we think further, some people might not even attend at all, leading to a lower attendance overall than at a slot where more people would actually want that slot. If we decide by that criterion however it would be unfair to the people who might be not available due to a lecture.

Busy Beaver

The topics will need to be postponed as our guest is not available. We also do not have the data available yet, so we could not decide on the nominees.

Cleaning Plan

Some student council members doubt that the cleaning plan is not useful during the semester break as some people might not even be at University.
We knew beforehand that this would happen, but the organisers were told to create it randomly.
We will pause the cleaning plan for the semester break, and, again, remind the people to clean up after themselves. We know that this is a suboptimal solution, but have no better alternative. However this reminder is true also for the semester itself.

Game Night

We had a doodle for game nights, which was not filled out that much. So there won't be a game night in the semester break. However we want to offer a game night for after the software engineering lab exam.
We just need to organise the people for that.
