Agenda

Constitutional Meeting

This is the constitutional meeting of the new Students Council. Clemens, the election officer from AStA reminded us that now, as being elected by the student body, we have the responsibility to actively participate at the Council Events. However we should not forget to also study, finding this balance is key. Everybody present accepted being elected as a Students Council member. We need to officially send two people to the FSK (Fachschaftskonferenz), who are discussing general university organisation, AStA budget and other things. Daniel and Lukas volunteered and were unanimously accepted. Alexander volunteered to be responsible for AStA-Equipment. Manuel volunteered to moderate this meeting.

Everybody gave a short introduction about themselves.

How to Student Council

Manuel prepared a presentation on how the student council operates. Our main task is to help students in various manners and represent them to the university organs, but we also organise events and provide many services.
The main work is done during meetings, where we discuss and decide on which actions to take about the current topics.
We distribute our work in task forces, usually a small group works more efficient than the entire council would. However every important decision is still done by a council vote.
All task forces and what they do are in the presentation. We will decide on who will be part of which task force in one of the next two meetings.
If we would distribute people equally among task forces, each member would be part of 2.31 small task forces, and 1.77 big task forces.

FIS

There is another entity behind the student council, the FIS. It is a "Verein" (A kind of Non-Profit Organization in Germany). The main reason for its' existence is that the Students' Council has an legal entity to handle money.

Thus, the FIS is maintaining our money and have their own membership and executive board. Their yearly public meeting will take place on 22th of February.

Rental Contracts

We have rental contracts where students can rent out our Schwenker or other materials. Usually things have a deposit that students will get back when they bring back the rented material. However, please check that the material is complete and still working when taking it back. There is a rental contract folder in the office, rental contracts are bilingual.
