Agenda
Deutschlandticket
A few weeks back we had a discussion about the issues with the Deutschlandsemesterticket. The issue back then was that SaarVV did not want to issue physical cards.
Alex had a talk with AStA who had a meeting with the SaarVV. The result of AStA's talk with SaarVV was that for now requests for physical cards will be approved, however they are not happy about it. If there are "too many" requests, SaarVV might consider not renewing the contract which would mean that AStA would have to make a contract with any other german transport association. However it would not change much, as the price and tariff is the same for all.
To request your physical card you will have to write a mail to SaarVV. If you want to request it, you can contact Alex or Kevin who have a template mail with a probable reason. We also consider including some information about this in the StEP.
In addition, AStA is already planning a unified complaint platform in case people are denied access with their phone ticket. Nicolas suggests to get in touch with AStA that we can have a look whether it is a reasonable request form.
Nicolas volunteered to get in touch with them.
We voted to represent the students' council in that matter. We unanimously accepted that.
Voluntary Members
Alex mentioned that we are using our internal group a lot for our communication, which excludes voluntary members. He urges us to use the public group as a primary communication such that voluntary members can also take part in the communication.
Nicolas also shared this impression, while Manu disagrees.
There was a discussion about what information we can and should leave in the public group and what not. There is a general sentiment that more communication nowadays happens in the internal group which could be avoided.
There were opposing opinions about what should belong into the public group and what not. For example the reworked rental contract could have been discussed in the big telegram group. Especially there is confusion about whether the "Fachschafts" Gruppe is available to the public - Appareantly it is supposed to be available to (former) students council members. This was not known to everyone.
There was also a suggestion to move semi-internal discussions to the (FSI) mailing list, as this should be available to elected and voluntary members.
Nicolas suggested to clean up the big telegram group and remove people who no one knows any more or haven't been associated with the council for quite some time. Nicolas, Kevin and Alex will work on this in the next few weeks.
KIF 52.5
The next KIF is upcoming. Kevin and Mona already presented the timetable and general setup.
The AStA reimburses travel expenses for up to two elected members. We need to decide who to appoint for these positions. In addition there are some funds from the FIS to cover limited expenses for voluntary members or additional elected members.
Currently nobody can decide for sure, but the following people are potentially interested: Alex, Jenny, Simon.
FSR Retreat
Lukas once again presents his idea of a FSR Retreat which would ocver multiple workshops about how the FSR works, as well as fun events. You can hand in ideas for workshops at ak.fsr.saarland
Target audience are elected and voluntary members. Lukas will try to coordinate a date and further organization.
Nikofete
Lukas reminds us that we should already think about planning the Nikofete. Generally he is open to organize it again but would be happy if people would assist.
Jenny and Lizzie are interested and eager to help. Max can also support after mid November when his thesis is finished.
We also discussed ways to collect additional donations. One idea was to set up Pfand collection boxes. Lukas and the team will evluate this idea further.
We also have a potential sponsor who supports us cover the costs of the Nikofete.
Breakfasts
Lukas gives a preliminary planning for the upcoming breakfasts in the winter semester.
The current plan is to have one breakfast two weeks after the semester opening and then one more mid-november.
More updates will follow at a later point.
SE Lab Support Event
Lukas updated us on the SE Lab Support Event we want to host to alleviate some stress from SE Lab Students. He urged everyone to fill out the poll.
The event will consist of a small coffee and snack bar, so it should not be too much work for the people involved.
Game Day
Manuel reports from the last Game Day. He was not happy with the outcome as only 20 people attended.
We are unsure what the reasons are for this, but maybe it was not specifically advertised in the SE Lab, but there were still enough posters.
Manu plans to do another Gamenight during StEP and then one more before christmas.
New Board Games
Manuel recently went to an Outlet store of a board game producer and acquired some new German games.
He also plans to purchase new english games soon if possible.
LAN Party
Manuel updates on the plans for the LAN Party.
He talked to David about using the InfoBib for the LAN Party. The preliminary date is the 23rd of November.
He will talk to the SysAdmin team to plan everything infrastructure wise.
He will provide another bigger update once we have all necessary confirmations.
Media Informatics Examination Board
Due to Anton W. finishing his degree the Media Informatics Examination board will lack a member soon.
We discussed who can take over the open position.
Mail from the family office
The family office of the university wants to record an image film tomorrow. They just now noticed that they do not have enough people for that.
If you want to be part of the crowd, the lecture is tomorrow (12.09.2024) 8:30AM-11:30AM in the big lecture hall of C4.3
