Agenda
Nikofete Recap
We had a Nikofete last week. According to Lukas, there were no bigger mixups. Mixed opinions regarding the different waffle irons. The bubble one received mixed voices but is now gone. We checked and founded it in the cupboard. Makes sense but nevertheless undesirable. The Paw Patrol (TM) waffle iron received overwhelming love as it was simple an fast. Savory crepes were offered this year as well, there is still some ham left.
People were unable to use to whipped cream dispenser. People and furniture have been creamed, sheesh.
We collected somewhat about 285 euros in donations. Donated deposit will be counted soon. Clean up did not work very well as there was no dedicated shift for that. Lukas reckons, that he was naive expecting people to help.
Alexander remarks that Anime Abend (TM) took care of quite some cleaning. Members unaffiliated with the Anime Abend (TM) added that Abigail took care of the majority of cleaning.
For the whipped cream dispenser, one part is missing. Please come home.
Nutella ran out first.
Some burn first-aid cream would be nice for clumsy helpers.
FSR goes Strasburg Recap
We went to Strasburg last Sunday for which we had chartered two busses.
Overall it went really well and there were no bigger hiccups.
We note that Pretix works really well as a ticketing system and has a nice Check-In functionality.
The only "bad" thing is that we had 3 persons who booked a ticket, but did not pay and did not show up. Therefore people from the waiting list could not join even though we would have had space available.
Alex mentions that here are currently 2 of these seats that were booked, but never actually cancelled and not paid. He asks whether we should follow up on these people to get our money.
Manuel mentions that during booking we kicked out people who had not paid until a certain date. Thus it could be unfair to treat people differently only because they booked late. However Manuel also mentions that the fault is on our side.
Some notions were made that since we are on a break-even we do not have a need to "shake-down" on these students. Instead we should focus on improving the process for these situations for next time.
Kevin mentions that we did not enforce the payment deadline too strictly, which we could change the next time.
Manuel mentions that he talked to one of the bus drivers, which operates independently. He offered us to contact him if we want to do bus travels again. Apparently he could make us a better offer.
RindPhi Logo
We have a logo on the door.
Alex informed us that our logo has been asymmetric for the past years. Ferdinand informs us that according to foundations of media programming, it is intended to be asymmetric. If you want more details on that, please ask Ferdinand or Daniel, I will not write that down.
Alex said they "fixed" the logo (Even if it is debatable whether it was broken). Daniel remarks that it is not too smart to now have yet another version of the logo flying around. He would have liked to be involved in the process.
Alex explains that the adaption was made late at night in an ad-hoc setting when Daniel was not available. Alex and Daniel will sync about the current status of the Logo.
FSR election
The FSK decided last week when the upcoming elections are going to be. Possible dates are constrained due to legal reasons. Wahlleiter is going to be Clemens, responsible for our district will be Anna Deutschen. The candidacy phase will be from 6.1. to 12.1. On 20.1. candidates will be announced. The election will be from 27.1. to 31.1. New FSRs will constitute not earlier than 14 days after the end of elections.
Manu critizises that there is only limited time for advertising the election and especially possibility to candidate. He is of the opinion that this is a major issue and fears that we might get too few candidates.
Ferdinand reckons that FSK started the process of scheduling too late. Lukas adds that there were external factors at play as well.
Daniel would have liked an open day before the election which will also be kind of difficult given the condensed timeline.
Abigail suggests starting advertising very soon, ideally tomorrow already. Manuel has doubts that advertising over the holidays will work poorly at best. Alexander and Lukas disagree with Manu's remark.
Alex volunteers to hang up posters. He asks for someone else to design them. Daniel is not opposed to designing them together with Abigail. He also suggests periodical (maybe even daily) advertisement. Manu will maintain a Hedgedoc of volunteers to advertise in lectures and asks for fellows to add themselves to the list.
Daniel would also like to have some kind of booth where students can ask questions about candidacy.
Manuel suggest to put up informational posters about current members that are putting themselves up for re-election with statistics, such as meeting attendance. Daniel mentions that some people joined only conditionally but informed us ahead of time that they could not attend too much. Such statistics could put them in a worse light than necessary.
Mona argues that meeting attendance is not a really good proxy for participation in students council work, as a much work is done outside of meetings. Additionally this number is skewed for voluntary members as their schedules are not considered when deciding meeting slots.
Kamila remarks that generally it can be hard for new people to get to our meeting if they collide with big lectures. Additionally, a high part of voters might be people who already know someone who put themselves up for election. Such people may not be influenced by such statistics.
Daniel remarks that people who already participated in any way can just put this in their motivation.
The general notion (Meinungsbild) was to not put these statistics out. However, there were several remarks to open up some space on our pinboard for candidates to advertise themselves.
FSK News
Other topics in FSK's last meeting:
Cedric (head of AStA): Little attendence in FSK. Wishes for more cooperation between FSRs. FSK is aiming for 6-weekly meetings. Invitations will be sent to all FSR members instead of only the 2 designated for FSK. He also reminds us that we have Rederecht in StuPa meetings.
Daniel remarks that he does not understand the schedule and reminders are way too short-notice. Since he loathes Teams, he would prefer pretty much every other service. Lukas apparently forgot to add him to these other channels.
In in the future the goal is to fix dates at the beginning of the semester.
Cedric asked for a person in charge of study quality. Given we don't have members dedicated to individual topics, Mona suggest simply contacting our contact address.
Night of the Profs: In Aula and Prof. Maggio will be a DJane.
Breakfast
Lukas asks whether we want to have another breakfast before the end of the semester. Would be end of January or start of February.
Manu is in favour. He sees an opportunity to raise money for a new dishwasher. We could also use this event to advertise the election of it coincides.
Lukas is not opposed to taking care of organisation on sponsor-stuff. Yagmur volunteers to assist him.
Dishwasher
Our dishwasher is broken, again. This time for real.
Manuel raises concerns whether people are capable without a dishwasher. Therefore he strongly advocates to buy a new dishwasher. Manuel did some research and appareantly you can get one for around 300€.
Daniel raises concerns that we should consider buying new instead of used e.g. of course for warranty reasons. Ferdinand mentions that MPI has full access to the Stiftung Warentest reports which could help us in our decision process. Ferdinand could help out in research for the dishwasher. A negligible point is energy efficiency.
Lukas mentions that the FIS is generally no dishwasher expert. Therefore we would not put a hard limit on the price. We would like to have some people doing research and make reasonable suggestions.
Ferdinand and Mona will research on dishwashers and inform us.
