Agenda
Summer BBQ
We are planning a summer BBQ to come up soon, first week of July tentatively. There was a planning meeting with the maths student council. There were two things that were decided: we need ideas for social stuff. If you have ideas concerning social events, contact Anton.
The FIS has made a budgeting decision. We would like to buy a Getränkewagen, but these things are expensive. The thing with it is that the math people like that thing a lot. It's very nice, it has a nice ambience. They want to have it under all circumstances. A little bit cheaper (under 200€ of difference) would be to have a drinks dispenser. This is claimed to be very much suboptimal. We discuss whether we want to have the nice and expensive things or the cheaper and not so optimal thing.
Daniel says that the Getränkewagen has a way of cleaning glasses and it's always standing a bit in the back, maybe we could position it on the corner of the library. Manuel attended the meeting with the math council. He says that it is possible to obtain a Getränkewagen without having to pay this much money for it. The math council would contribute money-wise to this. We were not able to meet the summer BBQ team, as the elections were so late. It may not be possible to obtain the Getränkewagen because of that, as we need to rent it from somewhere.
Lukas says that the price difference between the drink dispenser and the Getränkewagen is <400€.
Daniel says that we could ask to use a kitchen in the back of the library, so that we can place the drink dispenser close to there - this would allow us to wash the glasses there. Manuel says that this makes no difference, as one could walk for one minute more (e.g. to MMCI).
Ferdinand says that it is useful to have a beer stand and we should discuss this with the Math council.
Harry questions whether having all this is worthwhile over bottled drinks. Lukas says that this is not fun. Anton says that we already discussed this and everyone thinks that this is way less cool and it has shitty ambience. Manuel thinks that this is a discussion that should be resolved inside of a task force. It is not optional to get the cooling cart.
Anton suggests why don't we get a keg with two taps for beer.
Repetitorial statistics.
Our east Asian correspondent says hi. The repetitorium statistics have been sent to Kamila and will be included in the protocol.

We had a lot of help coming from other students, like Simon Hector. Simon (Döring) is unsure if he will do the repetitorium again. He thinks that it helps students a lot, but it is a lot of work and he is tired of council work. Therefore he is not sure if he can keep up with this for the next couple of semesters. If the students council would like to keep this up, they have to find a replacement for Simon.
In any way, we should thank Simon Hector somehow. Alex was also helpful, so was Kamila, of course. Bashar was also helping. Simon (Döring) wishes to thank everyone for their involvement.
Anton says that the last time we gave out free Sommerfest stuff. Simon says that this is adequate compensation.
Daniel wonders whether the amount of people present was in any way related to the poor advertising of the repetitorium. Simon admits that less people showed up this time, and he also finds this surprising. This time we also had a Discord server, but only two people have ever used this. Simon said that the channels that the Repetitorium team used to reach out to people was not used adequately.
Anton wanted to say that we are allowed to bonk on him, but he completely fucked up as he wanted to help in the beginning.
Manuel says that whether the student council will continue this or not, he thinks that this should not be decided just now. He doesn't think that people will feel responsible for their vote after this much time has passed, in case we have the ambition to host it.
Ferdinand asks if there were ever attempts to move the Repetitorium into the math department's sphere of responsibilities. Simon says that this is much different, but Ferdinand counters that they have more people.
Discussion about research poster frame and A0 poster stuff.
The ASTA invested in an A0 printer. They can print their posters in A0. We design our posters using SVG and we want to have as much publicity as possible. As we go through the Foyer, this is where the letter box and the printer is, Manuel thinks that it would be a good idea to research poster frames (get them from somewhere, buy them). If we have big events, we can recycle posters or make new ones and put them up. One can see the posters from very far away and they can be seen from the whole hallway. We could design reusable posters where the date can be changed.
Daniel says that he is not sure what is the additional gain from that - it is one more way of telling people of what events we are hosting. He is worried that we may be oversaturating people. He thinks that the idea of putting that up is great, but maybe just using this to announce or advertise events is not the best.
Manuel wants to steer the discussion towards whether we want the frames or not, regardless of what will be contained in them.
Ferdinand says that the entrance of E1.3, where the TV used to be, could become the place for the A0 poster frame. Lukas says that the A0 plotter has some quota per year for the students council and we should keep this in mind. Daniel says it's 3-4 prints. JP says that he talked to Erich and this should be allowed. Harry says that Kaufland sells the frames for ~60€. Jonas says that he had a point 5 minutes ago. He thinks that Daniel said that the A0 posters can be good but in terms of advertisement we would not need them.
Thought protocols available to other universities.
Basically we got a mail from some people from Hannover. They said that MobSec is offered online. They would like to have access to our thought protocols regarding the course. Ferdinand's opinion is that we should send them a PDF so that they can put it in their shit. Abigail says that the professor already uploads the stuff, so the thought protocols are not exactly needed. Ferdinand says that sending stuff to the council is fine, but on the other hand sending it to students is not fine. Lukas will reply to that e-mail.
GDSC hackathon.
So basically one of the representative members of the GDSC has reached out to us that they would like to possibly collaborate with the council and host a hackathon in july. If we are interested, they would like to come to a meeting and discuss their ideas. Lukas asks what they're expecting from us. Ferdinand says that we had them over for a meeting and he was not sure what they want from us.
SIC stickers: tried and tested.
The stickers have been tried and tested to see if they work. Lukas wants to know what was the protocol of testing. Ferdinand clarifies that the testing protocol was checking whether the validation machine will screw them up.
Social events.
There was a quiz night in Waldhaus. It was successful, we had a lot of fun, nobody died. Jonas won a mug. The next quiz night will be on May 14th in the Mensa Bar - the bar below Mensa. As many of you may have noticed, there is a breakfast happening on Thursday and the shift plan is out. Please check if this still fits schedule. If anyone wants to help make soup, come tomorrow at 4-5PM.
T-Shirts for new and voluntary members.
Max ordered council T-Shirts designed by Daniel for newly elected and voluntary members. Ferdinand says that we should keep the design from the last year. It's 17€ for people for whom this is not subsidised.
