Agenda

Appointment Commitee for Physics/Quantum AI

Intro: We were asked if we can provide a student representative to the "Appointment Commitee for Physics/Quantum AI".

Discussion: We talked about what it means to be in an Appointment Committee and then talked about if one of us is willing to do this.

Conclusion: One of our members has agreed to become a student representative for the above mentioned committee.

Information Regarding QUALIS Feedback

Intro: "QUALIS" is a way for students to provide lecture feedback. It should be ensured that the results of the feedback are made available to the respective course participants.

Discussion: Students should inform us if the results of the feedback was not made available to them and we should tell them that they have the option to contact us.

Conclusion: We are now aware of this topic and will inform the responsible people, should someone not make the results available. We will let the students know about this through some of our communication channels.

Concept Proposal: Systematic Recording and Availability of Materials

Intro: There is some interest in having recordings available for every lecture, so maybe it should be a standard to have them across the entire department.

Discussion:
Pro:
- Not every student can easily get to university/lectures with public transport or other means, which is time consuming and can negatively impact their ability to study.

Cons:
- Not every room has the necessary equipment to allow for easy recordings of the lectures.
- There is also a possible privacy concern, which has to be taken into consideration.
- In the past, recordings have led to way less people attending the lectures, which is something that lecturers obviously do not like. It has to be noted that this effect is not as (visibly) impactful for bigger lectures.
- Recordings are oftentimes a lot of work or just difficult to do.

Ideas:
It was briefly considered to suggest uploading recordings only after a certain amount of time and to maybe have some dedicated person who is responsible for them. It may also make sense to try this with bigger lectures first.

There was also a concern about certain lecture materials not being made available. Though we have some influence on this, ultimately it's up to the lecturers what they want to make available.

Conclusion: We will do some surveys about how big the interest in more lecture recordings is (both for students and lecturers).
Once we have the results, we will talk to the department to see if they have some way of making recordings easier to do. Though after this, it will still be up to the lecturers, whether they want to make the recordings or not.

Internal Wiki Pages

We should document our work more in the internal Wiki, as there is missing information on certain topics and some things need to be made up to date.

We also talked about meetings or experienced members in the respective Taskforces being another way of getting information.

Past Members CP

Council work can be credited with CP and we need to vote on whether we think that past members should get their CP or not. We did this for the members for which this was relevant.

Team Building Event

Intro: We want to do a team building event for the new council, so we collected some ideas and now want to pick one of them.

The proposed ideas were:
- Vibe and Vidya
- GoKart
- Crêpes
- Schwenken
- Ice Skating
- Laser tag
- Hiking

Conclusion: We picked laser tag and might combine it with Schwenken. We will look into organising that.

Meeting Slot for Semester Break

We need to find a meeting slot for the upcoming semester break (1 meeting every 2 weeks) and will do this with a poll.

FSR Recruitment Event

Intro: We have a lot of events but oftentimes not many people are able to help. We may want to do a recruitment event to find more volunteers that can help out.

Discussion:
It already helps a lot even if people can only help one time or just for a single shift.
We could advertise for help during the respective events themselves and should in general be more proactive about finding help.
We could also try to have the Taskforces do specific advertisements.
Apart from this, we already have a Signal group for polls which we could try to advertise to people.

Conclusion: We will put a QR code to the Signal group on our posters where we call for volunteers and we will also keep the idea in mind of having a dedicated recruitment stand from time to time.
