Agenda
Busy Beaver
Intro:
For the Busy Beaver there will now be 4 categories with one winner each. The winners are chosen based on the QUALIS feedback as well as other criterions by the Students' Council.
Conclusion:
We went through the different criterions to decide the nominations and winners for each category.
Recap: Last Meeting
Intro:
There were issues with our Doc last meeting and we did not have quorate. Also the meeting minutes of that day are stilling missing.
Conclusion:
We briefly recapped the topics with everyone who was present. More details can eventually be found in the meeting minutes of that day.
StEP Feedback/Recap
Intro:
The StEP for the upcoming SoSe 26 is now officially over. We want to already go through some observations that were made during the event.
Discussion:
Within the corresponding Taskforce, some people did not contribute enough to the organisational process. It was also noted that more help from outside of the Taskforce will be needed for future iterations (referring to tasks outside of the organisational process).
For this iteration we unfortunately ended up having to rent rooms in the math buildings, rather than the CS ones. The dates on which the StEP had to take place this year were also very inconvenient due to holidays, the Prog2-Precourse and other events taking place at the same time. This (among other reasons) has led to a noticable drop in attendees this year.
There also had to be a lot of breaks inbetween, as the presenters were often faster than planned (which is not necessarily a bad thing). For one reason or another, around 2 talks were actually missing this year (e.g. the Teaching and Learning Centre (ZeLL)). We also realised that certain subtopics felt like duplicates to an extent, which should be adjusted in the future.
Conclusion:
After we have talked about this again in more detail, we will put the feedback/recap in our Wiki, so we can use it in the future.
Chess 2
Intro:
We are planning to organise another chess tournament on April 29th. For this, we will need some helpers, advertisement, as well as money for snacks and prizes. We may want to take money from the Social Events bucket for this.
Conclusion:
We intend the chess tournament to be a more regular event now, so for finances we will talk to the FIS. Snacks can also be used from the Gamenight stash, as long as they are restocked afterwards.
Company Run
Intro:
We received an email about the upcoming Company Run. We could sign up as a team to participate again, though apparently parts of the stucture of the event have changed.
Participation used to be free and everyone received a t-shirt in the past. Now every person has to pay 10€ to participate.
Do we still want to sign up as a team or do we want to just leave this to the individual?
Discussion:
The Company Run can be seen as a team building event and also provides good publicity for the university.
In the past, there have apparently been a lot of no-shows that only grabbed the free t-shirts and then went back home.
It was also noted that there is no „winning“ prize for the event.
Briefly, there was the idea of encouraging other people not to participate in the event because of the entrance fee, which we have decided against though.
Conclusion:
We will not participate as a team and instead simply leave it up to the individuals who want to participate.
