Agenda

Summer BBQ

We are planning to hold a BBQ again, and started preparing the event some weeks ago. This is a small update and a collective brainstorm.

We are collecting fun activities to do during the BBQ and if you have any cool thing to do (that is safe and feasible enough, no horse back arrow shooting) we would be happy if you add it to the public collection doc at our pin board :)

Currently our ideas are:
- small water pool
- water guns
- some balls to play with
- pole dancing
- frisbee
- dart

We will also ask the “Jonglieren und Akrobatik Flowarts” if they want to join

From past experience (last year) we will need more things that provide shade, last time people choose to rather sit on the ground in the shade of the math building instead of the benches in the direct sun.

What did not went well last time and should be done better this time:

- prepare the construction in the morning better, provide a plan what to put where and have everything done before and placed in the FSR (last time design were not finished and stuff was left in the FSR room because construction did not know it was relevant)
- Preparing the fire first should be the highest prio as we had it running very late last time and ended up serving food past 12:00 when opening 09:00!
- last time we managed 3 grills and while we planned in support, the shift was not fully covered and often not working
- People queuing in line also needed to be asked one by one which item they are waiting for, since often times they were behind people waiting for schwenkers while sausages were already done. This should be solved by having a dedicated person as buffer for the orders and BBQs
- We need to over cover the BBW shifts so it is more robust to people missing shifts, since last time helpers ended up doing more shifts then was good for their health in the sun.
- Many of the problems last time resulted from planned in shifts not being covered enough, so we will this time plan with more concrete yes and no's so we can scale down if needed
- Good thing from last time was the usage of smaller beer keg sizes, this time we can also additionally redirect left overs to StuBar
- the university has a fund for climate response measures, and we could try to tap into this to get tents for shading
- were thinking about adding some side dishes for example baked potatoes

The BBQ task force will consider this storm of brains for their future planning.

DKMS event for registering people

We got contacted by the DKMS (https://www.dkms.de/) if we want to take part in a summer semester event they are organizing where they are collecting stem cell donors.

There is even a friendly competition between other councils for some prizes (which would go to CS students).

We are planning to take them up on their offer and will provide some space and time for them to hold their event.

Thought Protocol Backlog

We currently have some backlog and distributed the workload among us.
